About
I started this publishing activity because I realised that even though there is a great deal of music available on-line in original prints, much of it is impractical for modern cellists. No-one wants to read the upward-octave-transposing tenor clef, and even alto clef poses problems for cellists fluent in the normal tenor clef. There are other notational inconveniences as well, and music printed in dark ink on often discoloured paper is obviously inconvenient. There are also cello sonatas that have not yet been digitized, or exist only in manuscript form, and these are very often worth performing. I bring to this my own experience as a performer and musicologist, and I hope to offer editions that wear their editorial apparatus lightly, while giving as much information as is known about the composer and the performing practices of their time. I hope that cellists find music here that will challenge and excite them - the catalogue will expand!
